Time to review the ORV/OHV Trails!

Off-Road-Vehicles (ATVs/UTVs & Snowmobiles) are authorized in the Miners Park by City Resolution.

ORV/OHVs are restricted to the yellow trails marked on this map.

The snowmobile trails in Gogebic, Iron & Vilas counties are closed.


City Code: Sec. 30-624. – Regulations on ATV operation. (2) An ATV operated on a highway, street, or alley pursuant to this division shall at all times be operated: (h) Only between April 1st and November 30th .

Snowshoeing Starts in the Miners Park

Snowed last weekend, more snow this week.

Talkoot – June 9, 2016 – Art in the Miners Park Trail

Two trailers, a front end loader and nine people. The Art in the Miners Park trail is about 1/3rd chipped. We concentrated on the trails were the sun doesn’t shine.

Our National Trails Day project.  (Rescheduled after last week’s rainy Saturday.)

Art in the Miners Park Trail Talkoot for National Trails Day

Due to rain on Saturday, the Talkoot is rescheduled for Thursday, June 9 at 4:30pm, meeting at the City Compost Site.

The Friends of the Miners Memorial Heritage Park invites the public to participate in an Aurora “Art in the Miners Park” Loop work session on Saturday, June 4, National Trails Day from 9 a.m. to noon, meeting at the Miners Park Red Devil Trailhead located at the Ironwood Area School District’s Lorenson Baseball Field on Ayer Street.

“Talkoot” is the Finnish expression for a gathering of friends and neighbors to accomplish a task and is pronounced something like “tall coat”.

The focus of the Art in the Miners Park Trail Talkoot is to maintain and spread wood chips on the one mile trail.
