The Friends of the Miners Memorial Heritage Park invites the public to participate in an Aurora “Art in the Miners Park” Loop work session on
Saturday, June 4, National Trails Day from 9 a.m. to noon , meeting at the Miners Park Red Devil Trailhead located at the Ironwood Area School District’s Lorenson Baseball Field on Ayer Street.
“Talkoot” is the Finnish expression for a gathering of friends and neighbors to accomplish a task and is pronounced something like “tall coat”.
The focus of the Art in the Miners Park Trail Talkoot is to maintain and spread wood chips on the one mile trail.

The SISU Ski Fest will be cross-country and snowshoe racing in and trough the Miners Park the second weekend in 2016.
The Miners Park trails are reserved for SISU groomers, racers and tourers Friday though noon on Sunday. The trails will be closed to public recreational use Friday though noon on Sunday.
